The Plumbing Code (Volume Three) moved to NCC 2025 on 1 May 2026. The BCA, Volumes One and Two including the Housing Provisions, stays on NCC 2022 Amendment 2 until 30 April 2027.

When the plumbing and building sides sit under different editions, coordination gaps turn into RFIs. From 1 May 2027 the building side switches too.

For building work, NCC 2022 Amendment 2 applies in South Australia right now, and NCC 2025 applies from 1 May 2027 with no dual edition window. The NCC 2025 Plumbing Code has applied since 1 May 2026. - Plumbing Code. The NCC 2025 Plumbing Code (Volume Three) has applied since 1 May 2026.
- No dual edition window. There is no window to choose either edition for the BCA.
- Condensation from 1 May 2027. When NCC 2025 arrives for building work, the condensation rules change, including mandatory drained and ventilated wall cavities in climate zones 6, 7 and 8.

For energy assessors: how to read a NatHERS specification that exists but says too little, and turn its words into defensible modelling inputs using the Technical Note’s evidence standard.
