Course Content
This course will help you understand how to approach Class 2 apartment design as an integrated compliance challenge under the NCC. You will learn how fire safety, waterproofing, acoustic performance, condensation management and accessibility requirements interact within apartment buildings. You will explore how to design and detail balconies, podiums, separating walls and floors, services penetrations and other high risk junctions to reduce compliance issues and building defects. You will also learn how to address livable housing and accessible common areas from the early design stages. By the end of the course, you will be better equipped to coordinate compliant Class 2 designs and prepare clear documentation that supports and demonstrates your compliance decisions.
