Description
By the end of this course, you will be able to read a window schedule and a supplier data sheet for the glazing inputs a NatHERS rating actually needs: whole of window Uw and SHGCw values on the Australian Fenestration Rating Council protocols, frame and glazing type, opening style and size. The course sets out the three window libraries the Technical Note allows, what a default window represents, and the substitution rules, which differ depending on whether you are working in the WERSlink or the NatHERS custom library. The awkward windows are worked through by hand: glazed and partly glazed doors, combination units and their openability calculation, restricted bedroom openings, obscure glass, garage openings and glazed balconies. The certificate is then followed to site, where it becomes the builder’s window specification and a supplier quote is checked against its maximum U-value and SHGC range. Two case studies and ten scenario questions close the hour.
