NCC 2025 for Energy Assessors: What Changed, What Paused, What It Means for Your Modelling

$99.00 GST

A client hears that NCC 2025 is out and asks whether their 7-star design now has to be re-rated. A builder wants to know whether to rush a lodgement before something tightens. For residential energy the honest answer is that nothing moved, but which edition governs a project still depends on where it is and when it is lodged.

This one hour CPD course is for NatHERS energy assessors, NABERS assessors, building designers, architects and building surveyors. Four short modules, two case studies and a ten question quiz, with your certificate saved to your dashboard.

Description

By the end of this NCC 2025 for energy assessors course, you will be able to explain what NCC 2025 changes and what it retains for residential assessment, analyse the residential pause to around the middle of 2029 and what it means for your practice, determine which NCC edition governs a project by jurisdiction and timing and apply the correct baseline, and evaluate the commercial reforms: the Section J changes and mandatory on-site solar for certain commercial buildings.

The organising idea is that residential energy assessment is continuity under NCC 2025. The 7-star minimum, the heating and cooling load limits and the Whole-of-Home budget all carry across unchanged, so a design that complied under NCC 2022 does not need re-rating. The real change sits in commercial work, and the practical trap sits in the staged adoption of the new edition across the states and territories, with transition windows in some and delayed adoption in others.

Two case studies put that into practice: a volume builder who feared a new edition would void a 7-star range, and a commercial Section J report lodged late in a transition window where the edition changed the requirement.

This CPD reflects the regulatory position at production. Adoption dates are staged and can change, so confirm the edition in force with the relevant state or territory building authority before you finalise a project.
