What Changed in the NatHERS Technical Note: The Assumptions Assessors Must Update
$99.00 GST
Four revisions since September 2022, and the change log does not list every change. If your rating templates were set in 2022, parts of your next certificate may already be out of step with the Technical Note that binds you, from the default downlight count to how you choose between two heaters in one zone.
This one hour CPD course is for NatHERS energy assessors, building designers, architects, building surveyors and sustainability consultants. Four short modules, two case studies and a ten question quiz, with your certificate saved to your dashboard.
Description
By the end of this course, you will be able to explain why the NatHERS Technical Note binds every regulation mode rating and identify which version applies to a new rating or a revision. The course compares the thermal shell assumptions that moved between the September 2022 version and the current version 20241023: climate zone selection, the zoning of bathrooms, laundries and bedroom complexes, floor coverings and void formers, garages, outdoor living areas and Class 1b, the default downlight density and the expanded thermal bridging rules. It then works through the Whole of Home changes, including appliance documentation, two heaters in one zone, hot water certificates, the Class 2 centralised heat pump proxy and the revised pool pump defaults, and closes with preliminary and final certificates, a dated audit of your own templates, revisions and what NatHERS has signalled for the next version. Two case studies and ten scenario questions close the hour.
This CPD provides general guidance on the NatHERS Technical Note for new homes. It is not legal advice, and it does not replace the current NatHERS Technical Note, the requirements of your accrediting organisation, or a building surveyor or certifier.
